We can say that 2019 was the year of both challenges and development for Cyber Struggle. When we were founded, we put people and quality at the center of the company. It’s a very challenging process to grow and develop while preserving those values. On the one hand, not following with negative business habits, having ethics and principles, on the other hand, being able to maintain a business presence was an enormous challenge. We continued this struggle befitting our name!
After nearly three years of studying local field tests and information we received from them, quality enough to feed our emotional belief in what we are doing with a rational understanding received feedback. Accordingly, our journey to Tallinn in Estonia began as the first step of globalization in 2019. With the support of Startup Wise Guys, we have entered an intense 4-month pace. We gave more than ten conferences in Norway, Estonia, Lithuania, Istanbul, and Ankara.
NEW CERTIFICATION for HYBRID SOC ANALYSTS: AEGIS
We have repeatedly tested the quality of our Ranger certificate and wanted to keep it out of the way of mass production and keep the class at the premium level. At this point, we spent the year 2019, trying to solve more quality and scaling issues. At the end of these studies, we have designed a SOC certificate that can scale all over the world, but still much higher quality than its counterparts. Again, with this study, the central management of both future certificates and our currently active certificates has come to our agenda. For this, we have developed a certificate management portal software. With the software, we have automated all simulation laboratories and certificate/training management. Currently, we have the flexibility to provide 4096 people with AEGIS certification environment at the same time.
AEGIS certification is a hybrid SOC certification where you can improve your offensive abilities and better understand attack methodologies as well as operate as a SOC analyst is composed of a laboratory. Within a scenario, we designed a performance-based, intensive, and exhausting certification process by taking SOC-oriented sketches like a corporate company employee. We are very excited to present it to your attention globally by 2020.
RANGER CERTIFICATION
The main drawback of creating an unusual and brand new model is the lack of any other structure that you will take reference. To understand if the value you put out at this point works, to measure what level this value contributes to requires to create brand new feedback models. Of course, this fact forces to spread the test processes over a more extended period.
As you know, Ranger only had face-to-face classes on weekends and lasted ten weeks. In 2019, an option that lasts 24/7 and 25 days, reviewing the Ranger certification model from start to finish We’ve designed it yet.
Again, we transferred the entire Ranger process to our newly developed portal and got 80% of automation. We have added and updated the Hell week exam and exam systems. Again, we have created a new simulation environment by including all active directory Pentest processes.
In addition to solving scaling issues, we have still kept our Ranger certification programs active. During 2019, we have completed 60 trainees participating in this most demanding and widespread program in the world. We had eight field applications and four hell weeks. More than 7000 tasks are a number that an ordinary teacher can reach in a regular school, perhaps eight years. We work day and night to ensure maximum contribution to our trainees.
NEW CERTIFICATE FOR SOC ENVIRONMENTS OF INSTITUTIONS: CS-SOC-TYPE-1
In 2019, we started a study of certification not only to individuals but also to institutions and created a comprehensive framework. With this framework, we have created an audit process that covers many areas such as team, technical competence, departmental structures, interdepartmental communication, SOC processes, and the SOC maturity of institutions In 2020, we are dreaming of this framework being used by many institutions, and we are very excited. We will share details on our website in the following days.
In addition to all this, we plan to reconsider the active phishing detection application that we used for our internal work in 2017 and make it available to everyone in 2020. With this application, you will be able to perform an active phishing tracking by adding the domain you want to follow to the system. The app uses a variety of methods to generate and track domains that can be used in attacks against the domain you enter and warn you.
In addition to Phishing automation, we have developed a Shodan like app where you can create your own rules and search for relevant vulnerabilities all over the Internet. 2020 In 19th, we strive to present it to you. We have started feasibility studies for our chapters in Netherlands, Ankara, USA, and Canada. We started building partnership relations in Hungary, Turkey, and the Netherlands. In 2020, more expansion and, of course, quality and human will be our most significant focus.
Many people have asked how we accomplished all this in a short period of time like a year. We’ve done these studies with a team of 7 people. With an abnormal, motivated, eager, crazy little team, you can create values that are agility that huge departments can’t create. That’s what Cyber Struggle intends to raise. Our performance is proof of what we want to do and our approach model.
One of the most beautiful events of 2019 was to sign up for our first seed investment with a European venture capital. CISO NATO Maritime Group One Kieren Lovell and OWASP Co-Founder Dennis Groves have been part of our team. We believe 2020 will be much more efficient with this investment and new great members that will add speed and power to our gear.
