The CyberMACS Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJM) program is addressing this need by offering a unique, high-quality Master’s course in Applied Cybersecurity, combining academic excellence with practical, hands-on experience. Over two years, students will study at two of the three consortium universities—located in Turkey, Germany, and North Macedonia—earning degrees from both institutions. As an industry partner of this prestigious program, we are excited to contribute by opening a specialized class on Cyber Warfare and hosting workshops to expand students’ vision on interdisciplinary approaches to cybersecurity..
As part of our commitment to shaping the next generation of cybersecurity experts, we have partnered with the CyberMACS program to provide both academic and practical learning experiences. Our contribution begins with the launch of a dedicated class on Cyber Warfare, where students will dive deep into the intricacies of criminology fundamentals, terrorism studies, war studies, unconventional warfare principles, psychological warfare and their cyber implications.
The Atmosphere
But our involvement doesn’t stop there. We also conduct workshops designed to broaden students’ perspectives on interdisciplinary cybersecurity approaches, emphasizing the unique methodology of Cyber Struggle. Our goal is to empower students with a holistic understanding of cybersecurity that not only focuses on technical skills but also integrates elements of strategic thinking, psychology, and real-world applications.
On October 22nd, we had the opportunity to conduct a workshop as part of the CyberMACS program, diving deep into the hostile nature of the cyber incident environment. The focus of this session was to draw parallels between modern cyber incidents and guerrilla warfare, emphasizing the need for Security Operations Center (SOC) teams that can thrive in chaotic, high-pressure situations.
